Equipment

  • 1 Cutting knife.
  • 1 Chopping board
  • 1 Frying pan

Ingredients
  

  • 500 grams Brussel sprouts
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 knob of butter
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 pinch chili flakes
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • finely chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Wash the Brussel sprouts first before removing any old, discolored, or loose leaves.
  • Using a sharp knife, remove the end of the stem from the bottom of the sprouts. Then cut each sprout in half.
  • Drizzle the avocado oil into the skillet and heat it up. Add the Brussels sprouts and season them well.
  • Sauté the Brussels sprouts for about two minutes until they develop a slight color. Add the water, put the lid on, and let the Brussels sprouts steam for 5 minutes.
  • Now take the lid off and add the butter and the chopped garlic.
  • Sauté for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Close the lid again for 2 more minutes to ensure the garlic cooks properly.
  • Remove the lid and garnish the Brussels sprout with chopped parsley.
  • Serve while they are still hot. Enjoy.

Notes

Leave smaller sprouts whole, but cut a cross symbol through the stem. The stem is the toughest part of Brussels, and the cross allows them to cook at the same rate as the tender area. It's for all Brussels Sprout Recipes.
