Simple And Irresistible Feijoa Crumble (Pineapple Guava)

Equipment

  • 1 Round or rectangular baking dish
  • 1 paring knife
  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Measuring cup
  • 1 tablespoon

Ingredients
  

  • 15 to 20 ripe Feijoas
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick soft butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350℉/180℃ (fan-force setting)
  • Cut the Feijoas in half and scoop out the pulp with the spoon. Put the pulp straight into the baking dish. 15 to 20 ripe Feijoas
  • Put the baking dish with the Feijoas into the preheated oven and let the fruit stew for around 20 minutes.
  • While the Feijoas are in the oven, prepare the crumbles: Simply mix the ingredients with your hands until they resemble crumbles. Set it aside for later.
    1 cup self-raising flour,1/2 cup brown sugar,1 stick soft butter
  • Once the fruit is hot and bubbly, take the dish out of the oven. Stir in the cornflour and mix well. 2 tsp cornflour
  • Now, arrange the crumbles evenly on top of the stewed Feijoas.
  • Put the baking dish back into the hot oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let the Feijoa crumble cool down for a few minutes. Serve it while it is still warm with cream and a scoop of ice cream.

Notes

You can prepare the crumble mixture ahead of time and store it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
Also, instead of fresh Feijoas, you could use frozen ones. You need to defrost them first.
If you don’t have Feijoas, you could make an apple, peach, or plum crumble.
