The Cheese Filling

  • 125 grams 4oz feta cheese
  • 1 cups Colby cheese
  • 1 egg

The Topping

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 bunch chopped parsley
  • 1 clove grated garlic
  • 1 pinch chili flakes

Instructions

The Dough

  • Put the self-raising flour into a bowl. If you don't have self-raising flour, use all-purpose flour and add 1 tsp of baking powder to each cup of flour. 4 cups self-raising flour
  • Add the salt and mix well. 1 tsp salt
  • Now you can add the yogurt and olive oil. Mix with a wooden spoon to combine the ingredients. 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt,1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Tip the mix onto a workbench and start kneading the dough with your hands.
  • Knead until the dough is smooth and soft. It should only take two to three minutes
  • Put the dough back into the bowl and cover. Let it rest for 15 minutes.

The Cheese Filling

  • Put all three different kinds of cheese into a bowl. 2 cups grated mozzarella,125 grams (4oz) feta cheese,1 cups Colby cheese
  • Add the egg and mix thoroughly with your hands until well combined. 1 egg
  • Put aside for later.

The Topping/Dip

  • In a small bowl combine the olive oil, parsley, grated garlic, and chili flakes. 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil,1 bunch chopped parsley,1 clove grated garlic,1 pinch chili flakes
  • Mix well with a fork.

Assemble the bread

  • Tip the dough onto a floured workbench and cut in half.
  • Roll the first half of the dough out as thin as pizza dough. Keep the other half of the dough to make another bread.
  • Spread half of the cheese mixture on. Leave some space around the edge.
  • Now take the edge of the dough, lift it up bit by bit, and pull it to the center. The dough is very elastic and easy to stretch.
  • Pinch the dough together so the cheese is fully enclosed. It should look like a big dumpling.
  • With the rolling pin flatten the stuffed cheese dough carefully until it is even and round.
  • Heat up a greased large frying pan and place the bread in there. Fry until golden brown on medium heat.
  • Flip the bread over with a spatula and fry on the other side. While the bread cooks, brush on our topping. The cooking time is around 5 minutes on each side.
  • Serve while still hot and dip the bread into our topping mix. Soooo delicious!

There will be 3 main ingredients you need for the Stuffed Cheese Bread dough.
1. Self-raising Flour
2. Yogurt
3. A little dash of olive oil
A little bit of salt is needed for this, and that’s all. This is a simple, delicious and quick bread recipe, and all the necessary ingredients used in it will definitely be in your kitchen. We will let the dough rest for 15 minutes, and in the meantime, we will prepare our cheese filling.

The Cheese Filling

The Cheese Filling

While the dough for cheese bread is rising, you can mix up the cheese blend. I’m using a combination of three types of cheese: Feta, Colby and Mozzarella. A fresh egg binds the cheese together, making it ready to be spread onto the dough. It’s a pretty simple everyday mix, but one that almost everyone enjoys.
To roll out the dough, you will need a rolling pin, and roll it out evenly, maintaining its length and thickness as thick as a regular pizza.

Remember, this recipe makes two stuffed cheese breads, which should be enough for everyone. Plus, you may have some leftover for the upcoming lunch or dinner. It’s the perfect make-ahead option when you want something quick and delicious.

Steps For Making Our Homemade Stuffed Cheese Bread

Step 1. When spreading the cheese filling onto the dough, leave a little space around the edges. After adding the filling, gently lift the edges of the dough and fold them toward the centre, working your way around in a smooth circle.

 Topping

Step 2. To make our stuffed cheese bread even more delicious, it’s important to brush the topping onto the cooked side of the bread while the other side continues to cook in the large frying pan. The topping is simple yet incredibly delicious: grated garlic, fresh aromatic parsley, a hint of chilli flakes, and, of course, extra-virgin olive oil.

Step 3. Serve the stuffed cheese bread with the delicious topping on the side; it doubles as a flavorful dip. Please, enjoy it warm, straight from the oven, while the cheese is still wonderfully gooey inside. It’s the kind of comfort food that tastes best the moment it’s made.

Can I make this stuffed cheese bread without yeast?

Yes! This recipe uses simple ingredients like flour, baking powder, and yogurt (or milk) to create a soft dough — no yeast needed.

Do I really not need an oven for this recipe?

Exactly! You can cook the bread easily in a pan or skillet on the stovetop. It becomes golden and crispy just like oven-baked bread.

What type of cheese works best for stuffing?

Mozzarella is the best choice because it melts beautifully and gives that perfect cheese pull. You can also mix it with cheddar for extra flavor.

How long does the cheese bread take to cook?

It usually takes 6–8 minutes per side on medium heat. The bread should be golden brown and the cheese fully melted inside.

Can I add extra fillings to the bread?

Yes! You can add garlic butter, herbs, chili flakes, cooked chicken, or veggies to make it even more flavorful.

Is this cheese bread suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! No yeast, no oven, no complicated steps — this recipe is perfect for beginners and quick cooking.

Can I use whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour?

Yes, but the bread will be slightly denser. You can also mix half whole wheat and half all-purpose flour for a softer texture.
